A former Cleveland, Ohio, city
councilman, Joe Cannon has dedicated the last four years of his life to promoting the
Divine Mercy message through the use of billboards. His first exposure to the Divine
Mercy message was in 1992, when he heard a speech by Fr. George Kosicki, CSB, who has
promoted the message of Divine Mercy for years. It was not until 2002, that Joe’s
billboard campaign was launched. In such a short time, Joe has accomplished an amazing
feat: he has posted well over 400 billboards in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Idaho, and New
York. He is driven to carry the billboard campaign into other states as well,
including New Jersey. The only limiting factor in this endeavor is the availability of
funds since each billboard costs in excess of $350.00 and some can cost as much as
$2500.00 or more, depending on the location and other determining factors. |

| The billboards
themselves are making a tremendous impact on people. Many people of different
denominations are being exposed to the Divine Mercy message, as revealed by Our Lord
to St Faustina. Many people are afraid of all the events unfolding in the world today;
they are searching for God as an answer to their fears. The Divine Mercy billboards
encourage them to develop a greater trust in Jesus, the true message of the Divine
Mercy devotion. As Joe would explain it: "They see this image, and they want to know
more." Joe feels very blessed to have been involved in this very special effort to
this day. He hopes to continue his mission and reach out to as many people as possible. |
